Richard Gets Things Done

It has been a pleasure to serve you on County Committee (known as LACDP) and State Committee (CDP), and I look forward to continuing getting things done for you through these official party organizations.

Join me on Facebook. Be sure to send a message mentioning VoteRichard.org, and I will accept you as a friend.

Here is some of what I have been doing in my position on County Committee.

Nuclear Power Safety: We must fix or eliminate 23 U.S. nuclear reactors with the same flawed design that resulted in the Fukushima disaster. I single-handedly got the CDP to include this request in both a resolution and in the party platform. I recruited both Reps. Sherman and Berman to make this request in letters to the President, the Energy Secretary, and the Nuclear Regulatory Commission.

Economy: My urging resulted in the California Democratic Party (CDP) putting HR 1489: Return to Prudent Banking Act (restoring Glass-Steagall) on its priority legislation list, essential to ensuring that our current economic crisis is not repeated.

American Manufacturing: To protect and create American jobs, I single- handedly got the CDP to include promotion of Made-in-America goods in both a resolution and in the party platform.

Death Penalty: I sponsored the LACDP resolution calling for the end of the death penalty. This was an important step leading to the state party now including this in both a resolution and in the party platform.

Red-to-Blue: I sponsored the LACDP resolution calling on the state party to invest time and resources to support candidates in all 58 counties.

Global Warming is the biggest danger humanity has ever faced. We must promote renewable energy and eliminate fossil fuels.

I support single-payer health coverage. I am dedicated to protecting Social Security and Medicare.

I was first elected to LACDP in 2008 to represent the 38th Assembly District. I am now Secretary of the Delegation and thus responsible for organizing endorsement interviews of local candidates. This is a very important activity to ensure that the Democratic party is able to support our local candidates.

I also serve on LACDP's Rules Committee, which has been working on Bylaws changes to help improve the operation of our Party.

LACDP elected me to to represent the county as a member of the State Central Committee and its Executive Board. In turn the State Committee has appointed me to its Legislative Committee.

As a software engineer and manager, I am a leader in a small, start-up company ddesigning computer storage equipment. I am Vice President of the North Valley Democratic Club.

I had previouosly been a leader in the fight against abuse of administration power and in the voter protection movement. I have worked closely with the national leaders of Progressive Democrats of America, Democrats.com, AfterDowningStreet.org, and ProtectMyVote.org. See my 2008 endorsement list for the comments made about me by these respected leaders.

I appreciate your support.
